Berlinale Bonanza

Today is the opening day of the Berlin Film Festival. Our film The Beat Beneath my Feet screened in competition at this fantastic festival a few years ago and blimey, what an experience.

The festival was set up at the end of the Second World War as a way of encouraging the German people to re-build some assemblance of pride in their city whilst embracing creative work from all around the world.

The audiences are justifiable proud of this prestigious event:

* they're well informed - Q&As are a mix of practical & esoteric

* tickets are sensibly priced making them within reach of the whole community

* the city engages with the festival and all sorts of small businesses are encouraged to embrace it

I reckon we can learn a lot from the Berlinale.
